Tips for Searching the Urban Agriculture Bibliography

Title
It is best to fill in only one word here. Use the most unique keyword from the title for the most relevant results.

Author
It is best to fill in only one name (or part of a name) here. If the name consists of more than one word, type only the most unique word here.
If the name has foreign letters in it, it is better to search on a part of the name that does not have foreign characters.  eg. to search for information about Castro Nureña, you would search either on the word 'Castro' or on 'Nure'. 
By searching in this way you increase the chance of getting results because sometimes accents and foreign letters are not correctly inputted in databases.
If more than one person wrote or edited the publication, just search on one of the names.  

Keyword Clue
Type the keyword (or part thereof) that you wish to search on. Then click on the language in which the keyword is written. You can then select from a drop down menu (of keywords used in this bibliography) the exact keyword that you wish to search for.

You can repeat this procedure in the second Keyword Clue box if you wish to search on more than one keyword at a time.

If you are searching on more than one keyword at a time (or are searching on the keyword field as well as other fields), then remember to select either 'AND' or 'OR'.

Country & Region
Recently RUAF started including, where relevant, country and region references for documents in the database. However, not all documents have got these references yet. That means that until the data update is complete, using this as a search criteria will limit your results substantially. You can view or download a list of which countries belong to each geographical region here:  RUAF Geographical regions.doc

Result
Here you can choose whether you wish to see all results, only results with abstracts or only results where the electronic version of the document is available to download.

Message
If your search does not produce any results or you enter invalid search criteria, you will be warned with a message in red text that will appear here.

AND OR
If you want only results that match ALL your search criteria, use the AND option (less search results).
If you want results that match ANY of your search criteria, use the OR option (more search results).

Simple Search
If you want to do a global search for one particular word, you can go to the 'simple search' page. This search engine will look in the Title, Author and Keyword fields for any word or part of a word that you search on.

Reset From
Click here before starting a new search to make sure none of your old search terms are in the form.
